UH Community Garden Workshops

These workshops are a fantastic chance to learn a new skill or put in to practice any gardening experience you may already have! Run by Groundworks East, a local environmental charity, these sessions are led by experts who have tailored their sessions for students of abilities and experience!

Sessions run 1.00pm – 3.00pm

If you decide to sign up you will have the chance to do all of the following:

• Learn how to grow your own fruit and vegetables
• Care for your university’s growing area
• Meet new people on this free course
• Learn new horticultural and conservation skills

We also have a brand new Workshop at Bayfordbury!

Discover Bayfordbury Field Campus whilst learning new skills in conservation and habitat management! No prior experience needed, just bring suitable warm/waterproof clothing for the weather, work boots will be provided. Run by Groundwork East, a local environmental charity, these sessions are led by experts who have tailored their sessions for students of all abilities and experience!

During these sessions you may get the chance to do the following activities:

• Scrub clearance
• Winter tree ID
• Mammal ID and tracks
• Deer fence construction
• Tree care and coppicing.

Sessions run 1pm-3pm with a minibus pickup (spaces limited to allow for social distancing) at the Taxi rank in front of the Forum at 12.15pm (Broad Wy, Hatfield AL10 9AB). At the end of task the minibus will aim to arrive back at the Forum for 3.25pm.
